Land for luxury homes is up for sale for £2m

Land in Earl Shilton where nine luxury homes are to be built has been put up for sale.

Plans were approved last month for the former 1.8-acre paddock, off Breach Lane, to become an estate of 4 five-bedroom and 5 four-bedroom detached houses.

Each of the executive properties will have a double garage, with a new cul-de-sac road to be created for the complex.

The announcement of the sale, on Rightmove, says the site is in a “pleasant semi-rural position” with “full” amenities within walking distance, in the town centre.

The site is located at the southern end of the city, close to the Earl Shilton SUE (Sustainable Urban Extension) development site.

This scheme aims to add 1,500 new homes on 160 acres of fields between the town and the A47 Clickers Way, along with a new primary school and shops.

Opponents of the project have raised concerns about the loss of undeveloped green space and the impact the development will have on the city’s existing infrastructure.

There are also fears that roads in the area will struggle to cope with the extra traffic.
