New upscale hotels and resorts open in Malaysia in 2021 and 2022


Amid the cacophonous backdrop of Covid-19, several new hotels and resorts in Malaysia are expected to welcome vacationers this year or next.

The stage for the big tourism reboot is set for the end of 2021 and 2022, as more members of the general population receive their vital Covid-19 jabs. Hospitality players have had a foul odor over a long period of 2020 and 2021, not thanks to the protracted lockdown and prolonged border closures, both nationally and internationally. Kuala Lumpur was the sixth most visited city in the world in 2018, as reported by MasterCard, and the capital of Malaysia is the main gateway for inbound travelers. The country, in this regard, was the third busiest country in Asia, according to World Travel Monitor, the same year.

With relentless demand for accommodation, came the meeting of supply to house all those travelers eager to experience the country’s cultural heritage, melting pot cuisines and exotic islands. The time has come for the hotels and resorts that began construction in 2018 and 2019 to be nearing completion.
