OS cradles: the standard | Advanced state

The Standard is one of several new luxury apartments to appear recently in downtown State College. Located on the west side of the borough, The Standard overlooks College Avenue just between Atherton and Burrowes Street and is a short walk from campus.

Construction on The Standard began in 2018 after the demolition of Zola Kitchen and Wine Bar, West College Realty, California Tortilla, Golden Wok and two houses. The 12-story building has 243 units and 1,007 beds with unoccupied real estate below.

Now that the space is up and running, we ventured out to check out its luxury amenities so you didn’t have to sneak around.

After passing through the front door, you are greeted by reception and the fancy mail room.

If you go to the second floor, you will find study rooms, a game room, a gym, a yoga studio, tanning stations and a swimming pool, available to all residents.

Want to practice your golf swing? This simulator also has baseball and zombie hunter balloon.

The courtyard is located on the third floor and overlooks the swimming pool. Complete with hammocks, this picturesque space is wedged between the two walls of the building.

The rooms themselves are not too luxurious. However, they certainly feel modern.

Residents can choose from 17 different floor plans, ranging from studios to five-bedroom layouts.

The Standard is complete with a beautiful view of Old Main and downtown State College. This is one of the advantages of a skyscraper, isn’t it?
